About Frankfurt Airport

The well-known Frankfurt Airport is the third largest in Europe in terms of passenger numbers. It mainly serves as a hub airport to all corners of the world and a main base for Lufthansa and Condor. Due to its relative proximity and frequent promotional flights to exotic destinations, especially with Condor, it is also a popular departure or arrival airport.

Frankfurt Airport has 2 main terminals connected by an automatic train, details and terminal maps can be found below.

The airport operates 24/7.
Flights

You can get to Frankfurt from Prague several times a day with direct Lufthansa flights, which can be purchased for as little as CZK 1,500 one-way if purchased in advance (usually about 3 months). Ground transportation will always be cheaper with luggage, but if you are in a hurry, the price of tickets can be really competitive. Transfer and terminals in Frankfurt

Frankfurt Airport is one of the most frequent transfer points in Europe. Although many travelers rate Frankfurt Airport as chaotic and unpleasant, the reality is not so bad, but you should expect a lot of people at almost every hour of the day and long distances.

However, 40 minutes within the terminal and 60 minutes between terminals may be enough if you are connecting on one ticket. In this case, the connection is also guaranteed, so even if you miss it for some reason (for example, due to a long delay of the first flight), the airline is obliged to provide you with the next connection free of charge.

If you are transferring on your own, it is definitely worth leaving more time, ideally 3 hours or more.

Transfer between terminals

When transferring from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, follow the signs for the «SkyLine Train» — an automated train that runs between the terminals. It runs 24 hours at intervals of about 3-5 minutes, and the journey time is about 4 minutes. However, the train only runs in the so-called «landside», which means that you always have to go through a security check when using it. The terminals are also connected by a pedestrian corridor, but even then you will have to go through a security check. Terminals — distribution airline

The ticket will always indicate a specific terminal, but for ease of orientation we provide a list of the most important airlines and from which terminal in Frankfurt they fly:
