Car Rental in Prague — With or Without a Driver
There are two ways to have a car in Prague, and they suit different trips. Rent it and drive yourself — from €70 a day, delivered free to the airport, your hotel or anywhere else in Prague. Or take the car with a driver — €75 for five hours — and skip the parking, the vignettes and the one-way streets of a city whose historic centre was laid out long before cars existed.

Prague’s old town is a poor place to drive: much of it is pedestrianised or permit-only, parking zones are colour-coded and enforced, and a hotel in Praha 1 rarely has a space for you. If your plan is the city itself, a driver is usually cheaper than a rental plus parking. If your plan is Karlovy Vary, Bohemian Switzerland or a week around the country, rent and drive.

The longer you take the car, the lower the daily rate — the second column is what most people end up paying. For stays beyond a week the price drops again; ask when you book.
A deposit is required for self-drive rental. It is returned when the car comes back in the condition it left. There is no deposit on the car-with-driver service, because the car never leaves our hands.
Delivery is free
We bring the car to you and collect it afterwards, at no extra charge:
- Václav Havel Airport (PRG), either terminal
- Your hotel or apartment
- Any other address in Prague
That matters more than it sounds. The car rental desks at the airport sit in the parking structure, and returning a car there before an early flight is exactly the errand you do not want on the last morning of a holiday.
Car with a driver
The driver comes with the car and stays with you for the block of hours you book:
- €75 — 5 hours
- €150 — 10 hours
- €15 — each additional hour
- Fuel is billed separately, roughly 7 litres per 100 km
- No deposit
The rate is fixed and does not change with traffic or the time of day. You are driven, waited for and driven on — any direction you like, including across the border. Long-term hire with a driver is priced separately and comes with a serious discount; tell us the dates.
For a fixed point-to-point trip — the airport, Karlovy Vary, Dresden — a private transfer is priced per route and usually cheaper than hiring by the hour.
What you need to rent
- A driving licence you have held for at least a year — an EU licence, or your national licence with an International Driving Permit
- A passport or ID
- The deposit
- Basic insurance is included in the rate; extra cover, child seats, a roof box or snow chains are available on request
Driving in the Czech Republic: a motorway vignette is required and comes with the car, headlights stay on around the clock, the alcohol limit is zero, and winter tyres are mandatory from November to March. Crossing into Germany, Austria or Poland is allowed — say so when booking, because some destinations need paperwork prepared in advance.

How much does it cost to rent a car in Prague?
From €70 a day for a Mercedes C 320 or a Vito minivan taken for four to seven days, rising to €250–300 a day for a BMW X6. The rate is for the whole car and includes the motorway vignette.
Is there a deposit?
Yes, for self-drive rental, refunded when the car is returned as it went out. The car-with-driver service has no deposit.
Can you deliver the car to Prague Airport?
Yes, to either terminal, free of charge — and we collect it from there too.
Do I need an International Driving Permit?
With an EU licence, no. With a licence from outside the EU, bring an International Driving Permit alongside it.
Can I drive the car to Germany or Austria?
Yes. Tell us in advance so the paperwork travels with the car.
What does a driver cost?
€75 for five hours, €150 for ten, €15 for each hour after that, with fuel billed separately at about 7 litres per 100 km. No deposit.
Is a driver cheaper than renting?
For a day spent in Prague itself, usually yes, once parking and the stress of the zoned centre are counted. For several days and trips out of the city, self-drive wins.
