Karlovy Vary Airport (KLV): Getting into Town and Transfers
Karlovy Vary Airport (code KLV) is a small airport in the village of Olšová Vrata, 6 km south-east of the spa town’s centre. From here the colonnades are about 15 minutes away by car, while Prague airport is 130 km away. The airport is quiet: there are hardly any scheduled flights, and in summer it runs seasonal charters. Below: where you can fly from here, how to get into town, and how to book a transfer to your hotel, to Prague or on to Germany.

Which flights use Karlovy Vary Airport
The airport lives on seasonal flights. In summer 2026 it had charters by Smartwings to Antalya, BH Air to Burgas and Uzbekistan Airways to Tashkent, roughly from June to September, once or a few times a week. In winter the timetable is almost empty. In the whole of 2024 the airport handled about 38,000 passengers, fewer than Prague handles in a day.
So most visitors to the spa today fly into Prague and drive on to Karlovy Vary; more on that below. Schedules change from season to season, so check the airport’s or the airline’s website before you buy a ticket.
Getting from the airport into town
| Option | Cost | What it is really like |
|---|---|---|
| Transfer | on request | The driver meets you outside the terminal and takes you straight to your hotel. Easiest with luggage and on an evening arrival. |
| Bus no. 8 | about 30 CZK | City bus to the Tržnice stop in the centre. It runs to a timetable with long gaps, so check the times with the operator DPKV. You can pay by bank card on board. |
| Taxi | metered | There is no taxi rank at the terminal. You have to call a car in advance, or you may wait a long time. |
If you land on an evening charter with suitcases and your spa hotel is on the far side of town, book the transfer ahead: with so few passengers, there may simply be no free car at the terminal.
