Outlet Shopping from Prague
The interesting shopping is not on the expensive streets. It is in the outlet centres around Prague and just over the German and Austrian borders, where the same labels sell at 30–70% less. Three of the four below are within an hour of the city; the fourth is a full day out and the one people plan their trip around.

Tax Free is worth the paperwork
If you live outside the EU — the UK, the United States, Canada, most of Asia — you can reclaim 11–14% of what you spend, refunded when you leave. Ask for the Tax Free form at the till, keep the receipts together, and allow extra time at the airport to have them stamped before you check the bags in.
Sales, and when they are real
Seasonal sales here are not the decorative kind. In the outlet centres the winter and summer rounds regularly take another 20–30% off prices that were already reduced. Late January and late July are the two windows worth planning around.
Outlets near Karlovy Vary
Karlovy Vary itself has no large outlet. If you are staying at the spa and want a shopping day, these are within a day’s reach, with the distance from Karlovy Vary and the transfer price per car, one way:
- Rosenthal Outlet Center, Selb (Germany): about 70 km, roughly an hour. Porcelain and tableware from Rosenthal, Hutschenreuther and Arzberg, plus WMF and home textiles, in a former porcelain factory. Usually open Monday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00. Transfer price on request.
- Premium Outlet Prague Airport: about 115 km, roughly 1 hour 20 minutes. It sits next to Prague airport, so it is easy to stop on the way to your flight. Transfer to Prague airport from €110; we agree the stop at the outlet when you book.
- Fashion Arena Prague: about 145 km, roughly 1 hour 50 minutes, on the eastern edge of Prague. Transfer Karlovy Vary to Prague from €110.
- Ingolstadt Village: about 270 km, 2.5–3 hours via Regensburg. The widest choice of brands of the four, but a full day out. Transfer from Karlovy Vary from €220 per car one way.

Getting there
Outlet centres sit outside the city on purpose, and public transport to them is slow and awkward with bags. We drive you there, wait while you shop and bring you and the shopping back — the price is per car, not per person, and the boot is the whole point.
