What to see

Bohemian Switzerland is the Czech half of a sandstone massif of rock towers and gorges along the Elbe; the German half is Saxon Switzerland. The highlights on the Czech side:

• Pravčická brána, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe. You cannot walk on the arch, but the viewpoints are right beside it.
• The Edmund Gorge at Hřensko, a boat trip along the Kamenice river between sheer rock walls.
• The Tisá rocks, a labyrinth of stone corridors that few visitors reach.

A large wildfire burned through the park in the summer of 2022, and trails were reopened in stages afterwards. Check the national park’s site before you travel to see whether your route is open, and we will set the drop-off point accordingly.

Walking routes here often start and finish in different villages. With a driver you simply say where you came out, and the car picks you up there.
