The royal brewery at Krušovice
Why a taxi in particular
The argument here is simple and not about money: you are going to a brewery to taste the beer, and the Czech Republic has zero tolerance for alcohol at the wheel — no permitted limit at all. A car with a driver is the only way to do the tasting and get home.
- €45 per car one way, up to 3 passengers
- Per car, not per seat — the same for one passenger or four
- The price is fixed when we confirm the booking; there is no meter
- A day trip with waiting and the return to Prague is quoted separately
How this differs from a street taxi
A licensed Czech taxi must carry a yellow roof lamp, the operator’s name and a price list on the door, a working meter, and must issue a receipt. But the real point here is different: you will not flag a car down for the journey back — Krušovice is a village. Either the driver waits, or you take a bus to Rakovník and a train from there.
The drive
The route runs west through Kladno towards Rakovník. It is an ordinary road rather than a motorway, but short and quiet — forty-five minutes.
By public transport it is about two hours with a change and a thin timetable, and getting back in the evening is awkward.
What is in Krušovice
The brewery was founded in 1581, and two years later the Emperor Rudolf II bought it. It has been the royal brewery ever since, and the crown is still on the label.
The tour takes about an hour: the brewhouse, the cellars, the history of the brand and a tasting at the end. You try the pale, the dark and the Mušketýr — beers you will not find all of in a shop. Book ahead, particularly for weekends.
Ten kilometres away is the royal castle of Křivoklát, and fifteen brings you to Lány with the president’s summer residence and Masaryk’s grave.
What the price covers

Frequently asked questions
How much is a taxi from Prague to Krušovice?
From €45 for the whole car one way, on a fixed price with no meter.
Will the driver wait through the tasting?
Yes. The tour takes about an hour; a trip with waiting and the return to Prague is quoted separately — send us your plan for the day.
Do you book the brewery tour?
No, tickets are booked separately on the brewery’s own site. We handle the driving, but we will tell you what time to be there.
Can we make our own way back?
In theory yes — a bus to Rakovník and then a train, about two hours with a change. The evening timetable thins out, which is why most people book the car with waiting.
Can it be combined with Křivoklát?
Yes, the castle is 10 kilometres from the brewery. It is the classic one-day pairing.
