Transfer from Prague to Krušovice

Krušovice is 55 kilometres from Prague — about forty-five minutes. A private transfer costs from €45 for the whole car: the driver takes you straight to the gate of the royal brewery and, if you want, waits while you do the tour and the tasting.

The drive

The route runs west through Kladno towards Rakovník. It is an ordinary road rather than a motorway, but short and quiet — forty-five minutes.

The practical argument for a car with a driver is obvious here: you are going to a brewery to taste the beer. You cannot drive afterwards, and the Czech Republic has zero tolerance for alcohol at the wheel — no permitted limit at all.

Why people go to Krušovice

The brewery at Krušovice was founded in 1581, and two years later it was bought by the Emperor Rudolf II. It has been the royal brewery ever since, and the crown is still on the label.

The tour takes about an hour: the brewhouse, the cellars, the history of the brand and a tasting at the end. You usually try the pale, the dark and the Mušketýr — beers you will not find all of in a shop. Book ahead, particularly for weekends.

What is nearby:

  • Křivoklát — a royal castle 10 kilometres away and one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in the country. The natural way to fill out the same day; we have written about it separately
  • Lány — the president’s summer residence and the grave of T. G. Masaryk, 15 kilometres
  • Rakovník — a small old town 8 kilometres away

How else to get here

  • Public transport — train to Rakovník and then a bus, roughly two hours in total with a change and a thin timetable. Getting back in the evening is awkward
  • Private transfer — forty-five minutes each way, €45 per car. For the brewery this is effectively the only convenient option: you arrive for the start of the tour and leave when you have finished, rather than when the bus turns up

Book a transfer

Send us the date, the pick-up time and address, the number of passengers, and whether you want the driver to wait. If you also want Křivoklát or Lány, say so at the start and we will price the whole day.
