Route from Prague to Frankfurt
350 €per car, one way

The price is per car, not per person, and it is the same for the economy, comfort and premium classes on this route. The minibus for up to eight passengers is 400 €.
Car, train or plane — the honest answer
This is the one route out of Prague where we will tell you to at least consider flying. Five hours is a long time in a car, and there are direct flights most days. Here is how the three actually compare.

The car wins clearly in three cases: a group of three or more, a lot of luggage or equipment, and departures at hours when nothing flies — an early Messe morning, or a late arrival into Prague when the last plane has gone.
The drive
We leave Prague westwards on the D5 past Plzen and cross into Germany at Rozvadov, about two hours out. From the border the A6 runs to Nuremberg, and the A3 turns north-west from there through Wurzburg to Frankfurt.
There is no border control — both countries have been in the Schengen area since 2007 — so nothing happens at the frontier except the road signs changing language. One vignette rather than two, as well: the Czech motorway toll is ours to deal with, and Germany does not toll private cars at all.
Stops on the way
Five hours is long enough that a break is welcome, and on a private transfer the break can be somewhere worth stopping. None of these costs extra; they simply lengthen the drive.
- Plzen — forty minutes out of Prague, and the brewery that gave the world pilsner is beside the motorway.
- Nuremberg — the walled old town and the castle, roughly halfway and the natural lunch stop.
- Wurzburg — the Residenz, a UNESCO baroque palace, on the last stretch into Frankfurt.
- Bamberg — a UNESCO old town on the water, a short detour off the A3.
Arriving in Frankfurt
We take you to the door of your hotel or apartment, to a Messe entrance during a trade fair, or to the right terminal at Frankfurt Airport. Tell us which when you book — the airport is twelve kilometres out of the city and it changes the route we take in.
For an early flight out of Frankfurt we leave Prague at night. There is no night surcharge.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the drive take? About five hours in normal conditions. Roadworks on the A3 around Frankfurt can add half an hour in the afternoon, which is why we ask what time you need to be there.
Can we stop along the way? Yes, and a short stop for coffee costs nothing. For a proper stop — an hour in Nuremberg, say — tell us when you book so the driver plans for it.
What if my flight into Prague is late? We track the flight. Waiting time for a delayed arrival is free; you are not charged for something that was not your doing.
Is the price per person? No, per car. Four people pay 350 €, not 1,400 €.
