Transfer Prague airport Frankfurt am Main

Frankfurt is about 510 kilometres from Prague Airport — some five hours by road. If you have landed at Vaclav Havel and Frankfurt is where you actually need to be, a private car takes you there from the arrivals hall without a second flight, a train change or a night in an airport hotel.

Route from Prague Airport to Frankfurt

400 €per car, one way

  • The driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a board with your name on it
  • We track the flight — a delayed landing costs you nothing and changes nothing
  • Drive to Frankfurt — about five hours, one driver the whole way
  • Drop-off at your Frankfurt hotel, at the Messe, or at Frankfurt Airport

The price is per car, not per person, and it is fixed when you book. Starting from an address in Prague rather than from the airport is a different route and costs 350 € — tell us which you need.

The four ways out of the airport

Option Time What it is really like
Connecting flight ~1 h 20 in the air Lufthansa flies Prague to Frankfurt. Quick when the timing works — but you clear the airport, check in again, and wait for the slot. With a long gap between flights the whole thing takes most of a day.
Train 6-7 hours First the bus or the Airport Express to Praha hlavni nadrazi, then a train with a change, usually in Nuremberg. Cheap booked ahead, and a full day spent.
Coach 7-8 hours Nothing leaves from the airport itself — you get yourself and your luggage to Florenc first. The cheapest way, and the longest.
Private transfer ~5 hours Straight from the arrivals hall, no second check-in, no change, luggage no object. Door to door for a fixed 400 € whatever the car holds.

When the car is the sensible answer

Not always, and we will say so. With hand luggage and a well-timed Lufthansa connection, fly. The drive earns its keep in four situations, and they are the ones we are usually booked for:

  • A missed or cancelled connection. You are already in Prague and need to be in Frankfurt tomorrow morning. We can leave within the hour, including at night.
  • Three or more of you. 400 € for the car stops looking like much when it is four flight tickets on the other side.
  • Luggage, instruments, equipment, a pushchair. Nothing is weighed and nothing costs extra.
  • Hours when nothing flies. An early Messe morning, or a late landing when the last connection has gone.

We also carry pets on this route — no documents needed from you beyond the animal’s own, though for a five-hour drive the driver may ask that a small animal travels in a carrier. There is a separate page about travelling with an animal on this route.

The drive

From the airport we join the Prague ring road and take the D5 west past Plzen, crossing into Germany at Rozvadov about two hours out. From the border the A6 runs to Nuremberg, and the A3 turns north-west from there through Wurzburg to Frankfurt.

There is no border control — both countries have been in the Schengen area since 2007. One vignette rather than two, as well: the Czech motorway toll is ours to deal with, and Germany does not toll private cars at all.

A break somewhere on the way costs nothing. Nuremberg is roughly halfway and the natural place for it.

Meeting you

Send the flight number when you book. The driver watches the flight and waits in the arrivals hall with a board with your name — you do not need to find a car in a car park or call anyone. Waiting time for a delayed flight is free.

If you would rather be collected from a hotel in Prague instead, that is the city transfer to Frankfurt, and it costs 350 €.

What is included

A private car with an English-speaking driver for your group only, one driver for the whole journey. Meeting in the arrivals hall, flight tracking and free waiting. Fuel, motorway tolls and the Czech vignette. Help with luggage. Child seats on request at no charge — tell us the age and weight when you book.

The fare is fixed at booking: no meter, no surcharge for luggage, no recalculation on arrival.

Booking

Write to cz@cztransfer.com or message +420 773 477 799 (Viber, WhatsApp, Telegram) with your flight number and landing time, your Frankfurt address, and the number of passengers and bags. We confirm the car and the price the same day.
